Lion from gate at mediaeval "stabbur", Loftsgarden, Telemark

Together with a similar figure, this lion decorates the doorway in the second storey of a mediaeval "stabbur" or "loft". The building dates from about 1300-1350 A.D. It is now located at Rauland in Telemark, close to the workshop where the replicas are carved.

Lion from Stave-church in Vinje of Telemark, Norway

The figure decorated one of the gates of the Stave-church in Vinje. The church sas built during the second half of the 12th century. It was pulled down in 1796.

The "mangletre" was used for ironing. The original of this replica was carved in 1697. It is now part of the collections at The Sandvigske Samlinger, Maihaugen, Lillehammer in norway.
